Vorby can connect to the AI assistant you already use. Once it is connected, ask it things like “make a list of everything in my kitchen for my insurance agent” or “where did I put the camping stove?” and it answers from your Vorby inventory. It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and any other assistant that supports MCP connectors.
Every assistant needs the same connector URL: https://app.vorby.com/mcp. You can also copy it from Vorby under Settings, AI assistants.
Connect Claude
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector, name it Vorby and paste the connector URL.
- Click Connect. A Vorby page opens. Sign in if you need to, check the app name, and click Allow.
- Start a new chat and ask about your inventory.
Connect ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Apps & Connectors. Under Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode.
- Choose Create, name it Vorby, paste the connector URL and pick OAuth for authentication.
- Connect, sign in to Vorby, and click Allow.
- In a chat, add Vorby from the tools menu, then ask your question.
Connect Claude Code or another tool
In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http vorby https://app.vorby.com/mcp and sign in through the browser when asked. For scripts and tools that cannot open a browser, create a personal API token in Settings, under AI assistants, and send it as a bearer token. Copy the token right away: Vorby only shows it once.
What the assistant can do
- See every home you belong to, with its rooms, locations and items, including prices, estimated values, receipts, warranties and labels.
- Look at item photos and include photo links in a report.
- Total your inventory by room and point out items missing a photo, a value or a room.
- Add, edit, move and label items, and create or rename rooms and locations.
- Delete items, rooms and locations. Your assistant asks you before it does.
It cannot upload photos, invite people, change billing or delete your account. Do those in the Vorby app.
Disconnect an assistant
- Open Settings in Vorby and find AI assistants.
- Under Connected apps, click Disconnect next to the app. To stop a script, revoke its personal token instead.
- Access ends right away. To use it again, connect it again.
